Architectural style of the house is a west-coast contemporary , finished in July 2013, with a gourmet kitchen, polished concrete heated floors, floor to ceiling windows, large south facing deck overlooking the ocean.
The main living area is an open-concept design with stunning views of the ocean. The kitchen has Caesar stone counter tops, a six burner Viking range with griddle and two ovens, a Viking fridge, Jura ENA 4 coffee machine, Asko dishwasher, and a gas barbecue (just outside the kitchen on the smaller of the two decks).
The indoor dining table is made of rustic wood and it is complimented with modern looking Eames chairs, comfortably seating eight people. The living room has a vaulted, sloping ceiling, gas fireplace and custom designed furniture.
The west side of the dining room has an accordion style “window wall” that opens up to the deck. The south facing deck has a teak dining table that also seats eight. The deck is protected from prevailing SW winds.
Huge rocks shelter the house from the sea. The beach is pebble-strewn and awash with driftwood. There are two shallow-entry pools of water near the house. They are great access points to the water for people and boats. As the tide comes in the shallow waters are warmer than expected.
Off of the side entrance is a separate mudroom. The mudroom has an extra-capacity washer and dryer.
The master suite is located in a separate wing of the main floor. Its polished concrete floors, views and king sized bed give the room a feel of elegance and breeziness. The master bath has a large walk-in glassed shower with a rain shower-head and smooth stone tiles underfoot. There is a separate modern stand-alone bathtub (with views out through the bedroom and to the ocean if you choose to leave the bathroom door open!)
The second floor has three bedrooms, a bathroom and desk area. Each room has a queen sized bed as well as a closet for you to store your belongings during your stay. Two of the rooms are south facing with views of the ocean and one is north facing with a vaulted ceiling and with views of the trees. The bathroom has two sinks, a toilet and another nice shower.
In terms of technology and gadgets, you will be fully connected. There is a Wi-fi Internet, VOIP phone for free phone calls within North America, and wireless all-in one printer. There are two 50 inch flat screen TVs, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The house is connected with cable and 'whole-house PVR'. There are built in speakers in each room (not every room has a receiver yet). The living room has a Bluetooth and Airplay connected receiver. You can control speakers for living-room, dining room and deck from a speaker switcher.
The house is heated with hot water in-floor radiant heat on the main floor, and hot water baseboards in the second floor. Each room’s heat is controlled via simple to use Nest Thermostats.
Please note that there is a semi-attached suite with full time tenants.
The main house rents for $700 per night, minimum 7 nights.
